Welcome,
I’m Brooke, nutritional therapy practitioner, wife and mom living in beautiful Tampa, FL. My love of holistic health & wellness began while living on the tiny island of Okinawa, Japan. It was amazing to be immersed in the culture, traditional diet, and lifestyle of people thriving until 100! While on island I was surrounded by fellow spouses with a passion for wellness, some starting healthy eating groups, becoming kombucha business owners, or essential oil enthusiasts. The time spent on our tiny island opened my eyes to so many new ways to improve the health of my family, and I was in love with all of it! I knew I wanted to do something in the health and wellness space, but knew it had to have a holistic direction.
After leaving Okinawa and giving birth to my third daughter I was diagnosed with Interstitial Cystisis, a painful bladder condition with no medical cure. After being diagnosed my urologist encouraged me to immeditaly begin taking a drug called Elmrion. The medication would not cure my condition, but hopefully manage my pain so I could live a normal life. I immediately began researching the side effects of the medication I would be on for the rest of my life. I immediately knew the side effects were not worth the risk, and I could not agree to putting that in my body. I let my doctor know I would not be taking the medication and instead would figure out a holistic protocol to manage my symtpoms. I began to listen to my body, and learned my triggers. Through food and lifestyle changes I healed my IC naturally. This experience showed me our body is designed to heal. We do not have to compromise and take medications to bandaid one problem, while dealing with a multitude of side effects, therefore creating another problem. A few years later Elmiron was pulled off the market, I was so thankful I trusted my gut!
Come with me and hit the reset button! Let’s get back to our roots, back to real, quality, local, whole foods. With a food first approach we can address the root cause of symptoms and truly find healing.
As a nutritional therapy practitioner I use a foundational holistic approach to nutrition. First, evaluating a client needs through an initial consultation, detailed symptom questionaire and functional testing.
Once I have all the information, I can make lifestyle and nutritional recommendations with a food first, bio-individual approach, centered on real, whole, nutrient dense local foods. In support, specific therapeutic foods and supplmentation may be necessary. I address additional factors related to your well being that are not dietary related including sleep, stress & movement. Everything is connected!
Food is medicine, our bodies are designed to heal and I am here to support the process! I look forward to connecting with you soon!
Xo,
Brooke
